Deployado MCP Server

Connect your AI coding assistant to Deployado. Deploy, manage apps, view logs, and more — directly from Claude Code, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible client.

Overview

The Deployado MCP (Model Context Protocol) server allows AI assistants to interact with your Deployado infrastructure. Instead of switching between your editor and the dashboard, your AI assistant can deploy apps, check logs, manage databases, and more — all within your coding workflow.

It is published on npm as deployado-mcp and runs locally over stdio: your MCP client starts it with npx, so there is nothing to install globally.

58 Tools

Apps, deployments, builds, env vars, databases, domains, cron jobs, services, backups, and diagnostics.

Safe by default

Read-only tools are annotated as read-only and destructive ones (delete, remove, restore, …) as destructive, so your MCP client can ask for confirmation first.

Any Project

Configure once, use from every project. Works globally across your workspace.

Prerequisites

  • Node.js 22+ — Required to run the MCP server
  • Deployado account — Sign up if you don't have one
  • API Token — Generate one from https://deployado.com/settings/api-tokens
  • MCP-compatible client — Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, or any other MCP client

Note: The MCP server authenticates with an API token passed in DEPLOYADO_API_TOKEN. This is separate from the CLI: logging in with deployado auth login does not configure the MCP server.

Installation

Claude Code

Register the server with one command:

Terminal
$ claude mcp add deployado --env DEPLOYADO_API_TOKEN=<your-token> -- npx -y deployado-mcp

Add --scope user (right after claude mcp add) to make it available in every project instead of only the current one. Run claude mcp list to confirm it is connected.

Claude Desktop / Cursor / Windsurf / other clients

Add this to your client's MCP configuration file (for example claude_desktop_config.json in Claude Desktop or ~/.cursor/mcp.json in Cursor), then restart the client:

mcpServers (JSON)
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "deployado": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "deployado-mcp"],
      "env": {
        "DEPLOYADO_API_TOKEN": "your-token-here"
      }
    }
  }
}

Environment Variables

Variable Required Description
DEPLOYADO_API_TOKEN Yes API token created at https://deployado.com/settings/api-tokens
DEPLOYADO_BASE_URL No API base URL (default: https://deployado.com)

Optional: global install

If you prefer not to use npx, install the package globally and use deployado-mcp as the command (with no args) in your client configuration:

Terminal
$ npm install -g deployado-mcp

Usage Examples

Once configured, you can ask your AI assistant to perform any Deployado operation using natural language.

Diagnose a broken app

"My app is returning 502s. What's wrong?"

Uses deployado_doctordeployado_get_logs

Deploy your app

"Deploy my app to production"

Uses deployado_deploy

Find out why a build failed

"The last deploy failed. Show me the build output."

Uses deployado_list_releasesdeployado_release_logs

Set environment variables

"Set DATABASE_URL and SECRET_KEY_BASE for my app"

Uses deployado_set_env
